Reno, NV (February 7, 2013) – Solace Tree Founder/Executive Director Emilio Parga will be a featured speaker at the Nevada School Counselor Association’s seventh annual conference, being held February 8-10 at the University of Nevada, Reno’s Joe Crowley Student Union. Parga’s presentation, scheduled on February 9 from 10:45 to noon in room 402, will address the delicate issues involved with “Helping Children and Teens Cope with Death.” This topic is especially relevant in the wake of the recent school shootings in Newtown, CT and Coweta, Oklahoma.
“School is where we equip children for life, and death is part of life,” Parga said. “This presentation will examine issues of childhood and teen grief associated with death, experienced in and out of school.”
