Parga to Speak at National Conference for Elementary School Leaders

The Solace Tree’s executive director, Emilio Parga, is scheduled to speak at the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) 2014 National Conference in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday, July 12. The Conference attracts the most dynamic leaders in the education field—principles, superintendents, teachers and decision-makers—from around the country to learn about best practices in their field.

“It’s an honor to present, on behalf of The Solace Tree, to a group of some of the most influential people in our children’s lives,” said Parga. “The goal of my presentation is to bring the subject of loss and emotion to the forefront and give our educational leaders the tools to help their students cope.”

Parga’s presentation, titled “No Child Should Grieve Alone: When Death Impacts Your School,” addresses the impact of loss due to death for children and teens and how it affects school performance, emotional response and a pure understanding of life. The session is geared at helping teachers and other school faculty members help children and teens cope with death, grief and loss.
